Glenn Beck’s special message for Israel

“I want to tell you what it’s like to live in most of Israel right now.

A missile is fired by Hamas in Gaza…

A siren goes off.

You get 15 seconds to find shelter.

I want Americans to think about what that means.

If you lived in a place where missiles were fired at you…

Hundreds a day…

And you would get just 15 seconds to hide…

How would you live?

Stop what you’re doing. Run to a basement. A shelter.

And if you can’t make it inside…

Lie flat on the ground with your arms over your head.

That’s life in Israel right now.

None of us would be willing to accept this.

None of us would have to.

Every country has a right to defend itself against terror….”

The Gaza War and the New Outburst of Anti-Semitism by Manfred Gerstenfeld and Tamas Berzi

via Institute for Global Jewish Affairs – Global Antisemitism, Anti-Israelism, Jewish Studies .

Anti-Semitic and anti-Israeli manifestations reached post-Second World War highs during Israels recent Gaza campaign. Attacks came from many directions. They included strong condemnations of Israeli actions by several governments as well as partly violent demonstrations in a number of countries. Furthermore, there were physical attacks on Jewish individuals as well as institutions. There was also much hate speech.

A number of new hate thresholds were crossed. There were much-increased public expressions of equating Israel with Nazi Germany. Calls for the murder of Jews abounded for the first time in demonstrations in Germany, as well as in the United States. Prominent politicians, including the Norwegian finance minister, marched in such protests. There are indications that a variety of Muslim bodies, including mosque organizations, had planned these events well in advance.

A number of actions by various independent Muslim bodies in several Western countries manifested their desire to conquer the public square and, at the same time, remove Jewish and Israeli identities from it. This development is relevant not only to Jews but also to the general public. Those who want to impose themselves in the public domain today at the expense of Jews, are likely to do so tomorrow at the expense of others.

The Gaza war has shown once again that Israel can cope with the many military challenges it faces. On the other hand, the problems of the asymmetric verbal war conducted against it by circles from the United Nations, several Western political parties, media, academe, NGOs, and many others have never been properly analyzed by the Israeli authorities. Understanding how this anti-Israeli propaganda functions, and internally interacts, is necessary for gradually building adequate defenses in this area as well.

Beheading in the Name of Islam – Middle East Quarterly

Beheading in the Name of Islam – Middle East Quarterly.

The purpose of terrorism is to strike fear into the hearts of opponents in order to win political concession. As the shock value wears off and the Western world becomes immunized to any particular tactic, terrorists develop new ones in order to maximize shock and the press reaction upon which they thrive. In the 1970s and 1980s, terrorists hijacked airliners to win headlines. In the 1980s and 1990s, the car bomb became more popular; Palestinian terrorists perfected suicide bombings in the 1990s. But what once garnered days of commentary now generates only hours. Decapitation has become the latest fashion. In many ways, it sends terrorism back to the future. Unlike hijackings and car bombs, ritual beheading has a long precedent in Islamic theology and history.

Chaos, Crisis and Terror Serves the Islamic Republic – International Analyst Network

Chaos, Crisis and Terror Serves the Islamic Republic – International Analyst Network.

As the Islamic Revolution completed its third decade, it would not be too difficult to realize the reality and the fruits of its mismanagement during its imperial and revolutionary eras. Throughout the three decades of its existence, the Islamic Republic has managed, notably, to produce more hunger, extreme frustration and anger, prostitution at a record pace, drug addiction beyond control, child execution without any regard to the international human rights bylaws. There are many reports regarding cases of child sexual abuse and molestation reaching epidemic proportions. Prosecution and imprisonment of the innocent people and systematic and illegal abuse of detainees and hundreds of gruesome acts have also been reported.

After the war, the Islamic Republic continued its brutal purges, killing anyone perceived as opponent. The tyrannical and brutal regime imposed and forced millions of Iranians to run away from their homeland. The war left behind hundreds of thousands of Iranians dead or homeless. Now, the Islamic Republic needed another reason for chaos and crises to continue its mission of creating an Islamic nation. What better choice other than diverting the attention to the most detested nation in the heart of the Arab world, the State of Israel which has been involved in a conflict with the Palestinians for half a century!

Gaza War Protests or Pro-Hamas Hate Rallies? :: Articles by IPT :: The Investigative Project on Terrorism

Gaza War Protests or Pro-Hamas Hate Rallies? :: Articles by IPT :: The Investigative Project on Terrorism.

Thousands of people have participated in demonstrations throughout the country that are critical of Israel’s military incursion into Gaza. Thousands gathered January 10 in Washington’s Lafayette Park. A coalition of national Muslim-American groups, including the Muslim American Society and the Council on American-Islamic Relations organized bus caravans to bring protesters to the capital.

Rather than simply take issue with the battle in Gaza, demonstrators in Washington, D.C., New York, Chicago, Cleveland, Anaheim, Houston and other cities repeatedly have engaged in ugly hate speech and chants that echo the goals and dogma of Hamas and other terrorist groups.

Fistfights and chants calling for the murder of Jews and invoking the Holocaust expose the true motivation behind distressingly large segments of the protesters. After all, the conflict Israel wages is against Hamas, a terrorist organization whose charter contains virulent anti-Semitism, calls for Israel’s destruction and rejects any peaceful settlement to the conflict.

As this report shows, radical, hateful attacks have been prominent in rallies across the country.

Charles Krauthammer – Obama Distorts Americas Stance on Muslims – washingtonpost.com

Charles Krauthammer – Obama Distorts Americas Stance on Muslims – washingtonpost.com.

Outreach, Yes. Apology, No. We’ve Never Been Islam’s Enemy

Barack Obama in his inaugural address reached out to Muslims by saying “to the Muslim world, we seek a new way forward, based on mutual interest and mutual respect,” his formulation was needlessly defensive and apologetic.

Astonishing. In these most recent 20 years — the alleged winter of our disrespect of the Islamic world — America did not just respect Muslims, it bled for them. It engaged in five military campaigns, every one of which involved — and resulted in — the liberation of a Muslim people: Bosnia, Kosovo, Kuwait, Afghanistan and Iraq.

The two Balkan interventions — as well as the failed 1992-93 Somalia intervention to feed starving African Muslims (43 Americans were killed) — were humanitarian exercises of the highest order, there being no significant U.S. strategic interest at stake. In these 20 years, this nation has done more for suffering and oppressed Muslims than any nation, Muslim or non-Muslim, anywhere on Earth. Why are we apologizing?

Israeli Security-Whats Behind Western Condemnation of Israels War Against Hamas?

Israeli Security-Whats Behind Western Condemnation of Israels War Against Hamas? .

Analysis on Israeli security and policy proposals as to the steps to take concerning the Israeli-Arab conflict.

With a unanimity that has become all too familiar, politicians, the media, NGOs, and church leaders across the globe took their cue to denounce Israel’s legitimate act of self-defense against one of the world’s most extreme terror organizations. This chorus of disapproval is in stark contrast to the utter indifference to far bloodier conflicts that have been going on around the world.

Why do citizens in democracies enthusiastically embrace a radical Islamist group that not only seeks the destruction of a fellow democracy but is overtly committed to the substitution of a world-wide Islamic caliphate for the existing international order?

Decades of mistreatment of the Palestinians by the Arab states have gone virtually unnoticed. Only when they interact with Israel do the Palestinians win the world’s attention.

The fact that international coverage of the Arab-Israeli conflict has invariably reflected a degree of intensity and emotional involvement well beyond the normal level to be expected of impartial observers would seem to suggest that it is a manifestation of longstanding prejudice that has been brought out into the open by the conflict.

The Palestinians are but the latest lightning rod unleashed against the Jews, their supposed victimization reaffirming the millenarian demonization of the Jews in general, and the medieval blood libel – that Jews delight in the blood of others.

Qaradawis Extremism Laid Bare :: Articles by IPT :: The Investigative Project on Terrorism

Qaradawis Extremism Laid Bare :: Articles by IPT :: The Investigative Project on Terrorism.

American Muslim groups and mainstream American media outlets often paint Qaradawi as a “moderate” who represents mainstream Islam. This dangerous mischaracterization ignores Qaradawi’s speeches, sermons, and writings, which have called for the killing of American and British troops in Iraq, the killing of Jews and the destruction of Israel, the execution of homosexuals, and have shown support for domestic violence against women.

He is currently banned from entering the U.S. or Britain because of his hate-filled rhetoric calling for violence, in the face of the West’s so-called “war against Islam.” In September 2004, Qaradawi proclaimed that it was a religious obligation for Muslims to fight U.S. and British troops in Iraq. The communiqué, signed by Qaradawi and 93 other clerics, said that “the Jihad – waging Iraqi people’s resistance to the foreign occupation … is a Shari’a duty incumbent upon anyone belonging to the Muslim nation, within and outside Iraq, who is capable of carrying it out,” and that it was “forbidden for any Muslim to offer support to the occupiers.”

Additionally, he also has ties to terrorist financing. On November 12, 2008 the U.S. Treasury Department designated the Union of Good (also known as the Charity Coalition), a worldwide collection of charities which listed Qaradawi as the President, under Executive Order 13224 as a terrorist entity as a result of its fund-raising activities on behalf of Hamas and Hamas-controlled organizations in the West Bank and Gaza.
